How to Measure Your PD at Home

Tip: Average PD for adults ranges from 54–78mm. Measure 2–3 times for accuracy.


Step 1: Prepare

Stand about 8 inches (20 cm) from a mirror, or ask someone to help. Hold a millimeter ruler against your brow.

Step 2: Align Left Pupil

Close your right eye. Align the 0 mm mark with the center of your left pupil.

Open your right eye and close your left. The mm reading aligned with your right pupil is your Total PD.

Measure from each pupil to the nose bridge:

  • OD – right eye
  • OS – left eye
